We set out to create an affordable, easy to use solution that any fleet operator could have access to no matter the sector, size of fleet or type of vehicle they are managing.

We’ve poured 25 years of fleet risk management knowledge into creating The Academy, and continually update and add new resources to ensure that fleets have access to fit for purpose and best practice guidance.

James has been working in risk management roles for many years within the insurance sector and latterly consulting for insurance clients. When faced with the challenge of assisting fleet operators to prevent collisions and reduce claims costs, he started with the analysis of collision causation. James realised that most collisions are caused by what goes on in the driver’s head, the stresses and distractions of modern life, as well as fatigue. It’s also the case that employees on work-related journeys are often out of sight, out of mind.

This prompted the development of a system that managers and business owners can use to raise driving standards amongst their employees and prevent collisions. The system grew into The Fleet Safety Academy, with input from fleet risk manager, and hundreds of organisations have been delighted with the assistance and the results that the system has given them.
